My favorite “series” that can be read in a row, separate, or out of order.  Really, it’s so fun!

Sometimes we need a series of stories that are intertwined just enough to see they are related, but aren’t the same storyline just regurgitated.

Am I right?

I’m all for a sequel of sorts, but I get more excited with a different storyline that gives you glimpses of previous books and characters.

Enter one of my newly found and current favorite author, Abby Jimenez.

I stumbled across her book “The Happy Ever After Playlist” while frantically searching for an audiobook to listen to while packing up our family home for our first move with children and a dog.  (NOT FUN, but highly recommend audiobook distractions for this sort of thing!)  I didn’t research the book, as I NEVER do, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this book.  I was even more elated when I learned this was the 2nd book from Abby Jimenez.  Better yet, I also discovered she had written a book after this…. hence 3 books in a non, but sort of series.

Her first 3 books; in order:

  1. The Friend Zone
  2. The Happy Ever After Playlist
  3. Life’s Too Short

Even though these are stand alone books in my mind; there are benefits to reading them in order.  If you are new to all of these books and have access to reading them in order as listed above, I recommend this.  However, if you’re like me and start in the middle of the “series,” you will be JUST FINE.  I will admit, I listened to them out of order as audiobooks, and have since gone back and re-read them in order.  Both ways work wonderfully.  Don’t hold off reading these just because one isn’t readily available.

    Summary

The writing and storytelling in all three of these books has a way to transport you into their reality. It's a great and heartfelt escape you won't regret taking.
